Chris' latest words....

Hello again!

Hopefully everyone has been pleased with the newly painted court! Funds permitting, we can do the others!

It's actually happened! The holes for proper net posts were dug 5th April. Thanks to Nick for his digging prowess, Phil for his mastery of the sweeping brush/driving the wheelbarrow skills and Tony for his measuring skills, digging skills and concrete mixer!

THE CLEARED AREA BEHIND THE COURTS - this has been recently done... and we have no trees to screen the courts left standing! No longer a haven for the moss to grow in the shade! Screening the back of the courts with screening mesh now becomes an item! The Grasmoor Committee was not warned of the impending flattening of the back area. It needed to be done though, the hedge will grow back quickly during Spring/Summer. Please be careful when retrieving balls from that area as the road is fast and potentially lethal.

If you would like to join the club you are very welcome!

1. There are application forms at the Grasmoor Centre Reception Desk

2. A form can be posted to you direct - please contact Chris on 01900 825641

Thankyou!

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
The Grasmoor Steering Committee has plans (as can be seen in the Development Plan) for an indoor tennis facility here at the centre which includes a brand new surface, a wider surface area, tennis only markings and a new tennis only clubhouse! This is part of a proposed Development Plan for the centre as a whole. We are at  the early stages and of course money is a major 'can-do-factor'.

INDOOR TENNIS (!)
If the funds were available, we could have 3 indoor courts within 3 months - so, if you happen to be a millionaire with a handy £350,000 who would like to get a fantastic 3 court project off the ground, which has a positive influence on young people and families - we would like to talk! There are many positive benefits to indoor facilities, namely, the weather is no longer a problem and our young stars can train properly.
